Nicholas Taylor
Design director, Owner
Nick Taylor's career in architecture began at Chelsea College of Art and Design, where the emergence of a desire to marry the creativity of design with practical parameters led to an interest in the built environment. After completing formal training in architecture at Kingston University (BA Hons) and University of East London (Post Graduate Diploma) he went on to work with award winning, internationally renowned architectural practices, such as Allies+Morrison, Woods Bagot, HKS and JRA. His diverse experience includes working on a number of high profile projects (Liverpool Football Club new stadium, 100 Bishopsgate tower) and many private residential projects, both in the UK and abroad.
His passion for residential architecture developed alongside a pursuit of quality, innovation and honesty in design, resulting in the creation of IMBY3.
"Residential design is architecture at its rawest. The significance of the project for the homeowner and their house requires an intimate designer/client relationship that you rarely get in other sectors. In this work understanding the brief means understanding the person. Every detail is significant and every nook needs to be loved. When designing someone's house you are effectively changing their lives."
